Case: 1.K.RA.19.20.21.22.23 – Rheumatoid Arthritis

Case: 1.K.RA.19.20.21.22.23

Patient: 51 years old, female

Symptoms:

Severe pain and restricted mobility due to damage caused by rheumatoid arthritis in multiple body structures of the musculoskeletal system.

 

Diagnosis: 
  • Cervical Spine (Cervical Vertebrae): Degenerative changes in the cervical spine (C4/C5, C5/C6), disc protrusions, and facet joint osteoarthritis.
  • Left Shoulder: Bone and cartilage damage, deformities with pronounced synovitis, and tenosynovitis of the biceps tendon, supraspinatus tendon, subscapularis tendon, and infraspinatus tendon.
  • Hands and Fingers: Bone and cartilage damage, deformities with pronounced synovitis in both hand and finger joints, tenosynovitis of the flexor tendons in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th fingers.
  • Right Hip: Deformities and cartilage damage.
  • Left Knee: Bone and cartilage damage, deformities with pronounced synovitis and osteophytic changes (bone spurs).
  • Ankle Joints: Tenosynovitis in both ankle joints.
  • Postoperative State: After toe fusion of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th toe joints.

Images 1 to 14 are MRI scans showing the condition prior to the procedure, following the methods of SSG (Symptom-Oriented Synovectomy) and SMSS (Synovial Microsystems for Pain Relief) of the MIBRAR® system.

Operationsergebnis:

Unmittelbar nach der Operation verspürte die Patientin eine deutliche Reduktion der Schmerzen und der Bewegungseinschränkungen in allen betroffenen Gelenken. Im weiteren Verlauf verbesserten sich die Einschränkungen und Schmerzen fortwährend.

Die schon vorgeschlagenen klassischen Versteifungen an den diversen Gelenken konnten von der Patientin abgesagt werden, da dies nicht mehr notwendig war.
